Weekend lepas lepak kat Negeri Sembilan on Saturday & Sunday. Saturday ada kenduri kawen anak kawan my father. My parents came down from SP with my sister, so kitorang pergi together for the wedding. We met many of my parents old friends. And we met our new neighbour. He bought the house next to ours in Bukit Chedang, and somehow he recognised my dad and remembered my elder brother. Of course my father kena pujuk teruk with most people there to come back and settle down in Seremban as soon as possible.
My dad, a retired police officer had been travelling around Peninsular Malaysia during his service with PDRM. Being anak polis, my siblings and I had went to many schools and still keep in touch with most of our friends. Adik yang paling banyak sekolah among the 4 of us. We were quite long in Seremban during 80s, and my parents bought a house in Bukit Chedang. It was rented out previously when we moved up north, but currently the house is a wearhouse for my mom’s stuff. I cannot imagine how she wants to kemas the house once we settle down in Seremban by end of next year (errr… ayong, boleh percaya ke babah tu nak balik Seremban tahun depan? hehehehehe).
Anyway, it was good to see many familiar faces at the kenduri. And I noted that Seremban town is much busy now. I managed to visit my old kindergarden, Montessori Seremban. But it was closed since it was a Saturday. The building is still there, and the small padang where I used to play masak-masak and kawen-kawen with others. Hehehehe. Tapi my primary & secondary school dah kena roboh (Convent Seremban).
After wedding, we went to visit my parents old friends somewhere in Senawang. Managed to go through the traffic and reached KL around Maghrib.
And yesterday evening I went to Nilai pulak to do some shopping. Nilai 3 was very alive at night. Ramai orang, bas-bas sekolah yang bawak rombongan-rombongan cik Kiah punya lah banyak. From kain baju to kain langsir, barang2 nak buat hantaran & kenduri kawen, carpets, pots & plants, segala macam pinggan-periuk, toys (saw one big ultraman standing patung at one of the shops, about my height!), furnitures, house decorations, lampu, cars accessories, antiques clocks, segala benda lah ada. Just bring a very big car and lots of cash. They accept credit cards, and there are ATMs too (eerr… bank rakyat, cimb, meps pun ada). You can go crazy spending your money the whole day. Not to worry, kedai makan ada, public toilet ada, surau pun ada.
I am not sure when my parents are coming back for good to Seremban. We can always sell our house in SP. I need my parents here. Senang weekend I boleh hantar laundry (especially for ironing, hehehehe) and nak tapau apa food mama masak. Weekdays pun rasa nak makan mom’s home cook meal pun senang, balik ja Seremban, next day drive to KL balik. I don’t mind the toll & travelling, hehehehe. They are so far away in SP. Their siblings are here in KL. Their children are here in KL. Both mama & babah are not that well. At least kalau diorang pindah Seremban, dekat sikit should anything emergency. And they will not miss too much of the family kenduri & gatherings. And for them to drive up and down everytime they balik KL will be very tiring for them. My dad did mention that he will come back after kakteh’s wedding. But now he said he wants to work a little bit longer in SP in case I decide to get married. Aiyoh, ini orang tua. But I know that the main reason why dia tak nak balik lagi is because he is not sure whether he can take it by sitting at home doing nothing. At least now he is still working, he has activities to do during the day, and ada alasan tak payah terperap duduk kat rumah. Well, until he decides, I am yet to call Negeri Sembilan as my hometown.
