Finally I am out of bukit antarabangsa!

On Saturday early morning my mom and fahroe called around 630am to inform ada landslide at taman bukit mewah, bukit antarabangsa, about 2km away from where I stay now. I woke up, kejutkan my sister (dia tumpang my house seminggu) and switched on the tv. Sambil dok tengok the news, boleh dengar bunyi helicopter,bunyi siren bomba and police. And by 7am my phone non stop ringing and dapat sms from family and friends asking me where I was, was I safe ke tak?

My current house that I am renting is in Taman Bukit Mulia,about 2km away from the landslide area. But I have many friends who are staying further up and are stuck due to landslide. Managed to contact most of them, semua selamat, tengah cari jalan nak keluar. I cepat2 mandi, and naik atas pegi area Giant, bought food and drinking water. Kat Giant I jumpa ramai kawan-kawan yang manage keluar dari rumah masing2, but most of them sehelai sepinggang. I was waiting for Iza, Ray and their children to arrive. Memang chaos as most people are trying to get out, ramai orang nak beli food, tapi ATM machine kat situ semua out of order. Once Iza sampai, semua balik my house. I pity them, especially the kids terpaksa jalan more than 5km, lalu tepi hutan, tepi tanah runtuh, tepi cerun bukit nak sampai tempat yang selamat. At home, Fahroe and his MARES (Malaysia Amateur Radio Emergency Services) team dah ready set-up his radio and antena, senang kitorang dapat updates from tempat kejadian. Sorang-sorang MARES members sampai hantar food and stuff. Around noon, the kids were sent to Sentul (their grandparents house), my friends & MARES people semua naik bukit balik. We thought we could go back to Iza’s house to pick up more clothes and important documents, tapi jalan belakang bukit dah kena tutup sebab air dah naik paras pinggang.

Hence, Ray suruh the ladies balik, he went back ikut cerun bukit the other side of bukit antarabangsa which is very-very steep. We were really worried while waiting him at home, but he was constantly in-touch with us via hp. The radio sets at my house was very convenient, we got to know that more tanah runtuh due to the rain! By 4pm, Ray was the last person yang naik cerun tu and safely home. We went to fetch him, and went to buy petrol for MARES generator set since diorang semua dah tak boleh keluar. Kereta pun dah tak dibenarkan keluar masuk, nak pergi petronas punya lah jam. We decided to go to Ampang. Got the petrol, withdraw duit sket, hantar petrol, balik rumah and tengok TV. Memang dok tekan TV1, TV2, Astro Awani 502 gilir2 for updates.

Around 6pm, my brother sampai. He brought food. He was there to fetch kak teh nak balik simpang pulai/taiping. They left just before maghrib. Fahroe and Arin came back,mandi & makan, We got to know from them, at that point, there were many people still stuck at bukit utama, puncak bukit utama,oakleaf, kyoto garden, impian selatan, tropicana, bukit jaya, with no water & electricity! My house pun mula2 takde air, but by 7pm air dah ada. I was still awake around midnight tengok news. Iza & Ray dah sleep, kepenatan. Another friend also came back to take her car that she left at my house. Rumah dia betul2 sebelah tanah runtuh. Around 1am pegi fetch MARES team. They had hot drinks, yang mandi lah as they plan to stay back, makan sket. They left my house around 2am and I slept.

Semalam, bangun pagi, and continued depan tv the whole day tengok updates. The guys came back for their things that they tumpang at my house, had nasi lemak & bread for breakfast. Iza left after lunch pegi jenguk anak2 at her mom’s house. I stayed back and dok go through my S&P for the house I just bought.

I bought a condo at Impian Selatan, the only building at Taman Bukit Mewah yang selamat from the landslide! Now tempat tu memang lah tak selamat. I dah sign S&P, loan dah approve, baru ja Friday I pegi submit surat beranak (new rules nak withdraw EPF money, mesti produce birth cert), tinggal nak tunggu duit EPF ja. Now that this happen, aiyoh! I couldn’t sleep last night thinking about it. I have to wait until tomorrow, after talking to bank & lawyers baru I akan decide. But at the moment memang tak safe!

Tanah runtuh tu sepanjang 750m,with height of 5 tingkat punya bangunan. I ada masuk & tengok tempat tu, dari bawah,and dari belah atas. Tanah runtuh sampai betul2 depan entrance gate Impian Selatan Condo. Sigh….

At this moment am writing this, I am out of Bukit Antarabangsa. Takde phone coverage since 630pm.Although I ada radio set, but I tak sedap hati,so I moved out for the night. Besok siang baru pegi tengok balik. Dah lah neighbour sebelah both kiri kanan pun takde.

I went to TGIF Sunway Pyramid last 22nd November for dinner. I noted in the menu stated that all of their Jack Daniel’s steak are cooked with “our original Jack Daniel’s sauce which contains alcohol”. And the best part was next to that particular statement, the menu stated “All of our meat served are halal certified by …… “ (Sorry, dah tak ingat from which body diorang tulis) with the Halal logo very next to it.

So Mr. F asked the waiter “You punya steak sini semua halal ye? Jack Daniel steak ni I boleh makan tak?”

Waiter answered : “Boleh, sini semua steak memang halal”

Question : “Tapi ini Jack Daniel sauce alcohol kan?”

Answer : “Yes, Jack Daniel sauce tu alcohol, itu tak halal”

Question : “So, Jack Daniel steak ni I boleh order tak sbb daging halal?”

Answer : “Boleh!”

I dah start geleng kepala. To me, the menu dah very misleading. They should not have printed both statement next to each other. At the steak menu non-other than Jack Daniel’s steak boleh lah (TGIF has other steaks too : New York Strip, Ribeye Steak, Sirloin Steak) Ini kalau dapat yang tak faham menda, ada pegi tibai order Jack Daniel’s steak.

The first photo above is Ribeye Steak with Wild Mushroom Sauce and Cheddar Mashed Potato. The second photo above is what I ordered, New York Strip Steak with Sundried Pesto Sauce and Cheddar Mashed Potato. I used to order well done steak whenever I pegi makan, but nowaday I prefer medium well. Kalau well done, keras sangat la. Tapi kalau medium tu pulak kurang masak, I kurang gemar tu.

The third photo is Chicken Fajitas. Itu I tak order. Ada mamat pregnant sembilan bulan nak kasi baby dalam perut makan.

Hari ni nightmare betul nak settle BSP. Tapi alhamdulillah semua dah settle now. 3 kali hari ni I kena ulang alik pegi KLCC. Nasib baik my clients bagus2 hari ni kasi duit and the bank officer very helpful. Dia nampak my face amik nombor, terus suruh masuk dalam dia kasi attend.

Now I nak kira balik duit balance, sat lagi besok overdrawn, aku jugak yang pengsan. And get ready to go to KLCC balik after maghrib.

I think I should suggest boss pindah KLCC ja lah ini macam since every Monday, Thursday & Friday mesti pegi sana. Hmm….
