Diverticulum

That was the problem my dad had last week in which made him admitted to hospital.

Diverticulum = Small little pouch/sacs along some part of the colon.

Usually older men will get this as he ages due to pressure within the intestine if they don’t eat enough fibre.The small little pouches/sacs are usually harmless with no malignant potential.

I got information that it can bleed occasionally which will develop structures in colon in which will results to cancer or punch holes into other organs like the bladder. Doctor said no need for surgery. He should be alright with resting at home for now, and control his food intake.

My dad was discharged yesterday evening and is resting at home today.
