The Drama Is Here!

The Long Weekend : Episod My Parents

My parents came down to KL last Friday for the long weekend. Mom went for her medical check-up in Penang that Friday morning, then she, dad and ayong left for KL. They arrived Sungai Buloh quite early, but only reached my house almost midnight after attending to their grandchildren and visited my grandmother (nenek – my dad’s mother) in Gombak. I made them breakfast the next morning before going to work and settled my car. My mother spent that Saturday Morning clearing off my garden, yeay! Thanks mom! and also sorted my bills and put them in the files. My mother is a very fussy lady and very organised, I can never be like her, although Dad always say that I am mom in the making. Hehehe.

They went for a wedding in Taman Melati, Gombak before meeting up with their siblings at Nenek’s house to discuss about my sister’s wedding in October. At night all of us went to Kunang-kunang for dinner. There were about 20 of us including 3 kids. My siblings and spouses, Aunty Dah & Chik, Adik brought along his MIL, my sister tagged along her friend Ashwin who came from Mauritius for work, and there were also my parents’ old friends who mom insisted that they have to join us for dinner. Ordered so many food, the bill came about RM324 which I would like to thank my siblings for their contribution. Kakteh brought cakes from Secret Recipe to celebrate dad’s belated birthday and also both my brother’s and nephew’s coming birthday this month. The cake was written : Happy Birthday Atuk, Ayah & Hariz!. Adik bought a watch for dad which all my siblings and spouses shared the cost of it, it was quite an expensive watch. We were there almost 3 hours, eating, chatting, picture taking, sakat each other. The kids, Hariz & Nurin were very excited as they were looking forward to overnight at my house that night.

We did not go home straight, instead we went to Danau Kota Bazaria Larut Malam. It is a late night market selling so many things at cheap price. But you need to be carefull, do inspect the goods first before paying. Ashwin bought 2 pairs of shoes, shawls, a belt, a shirt and something else. As for Hariz & Nurin, they were excited as they know they won’t be going to that kind of place with ayah (ayah sure malas punya). Arrived home quite late, settled the kids and slept. My parents and I were supposed to go for a morning walk that Sunday morning, but dad was tired, mom & I hardly can open our eyes that morning and it looked like it was going to rain. So we had our morning walk on the bed – continued sleeping. :)

When I woke up later, saw my room like a rumah kontrak! All of us slept in master bedroom. Luckily I have extra mattress that can be used. The kids brushed their teeth and start ordering this and that for breakfast. Bought roti canai, had cakes, some malay kuihs, breads, all sorts of juices. I thank my brother and his wife for teaching the kids table manners. Very tertib diorang makan. After that we played congkak before getting ready to go Putrajaya for another wedding. After wedding, we head to my cousin’s house in Taman Melati for a family get together. Food was yummy, everyone was there. I sent the kids to one utama after that (cukup lah jaga satu malam), and went back home. My parents decided to stay in Gombak for a while, mom wanted to spend some time at Opah’s house. I went out to Pavillion instead. Had some errands to do. Thought of watching Iron Man, but missed the 8pm show. Instead, I had dinner at Pasta Mania. On the way back, bought lots of bread, fetched my parents at Gombak, balik rumah & sleep!

On Monday morning, had discussion with mom on Kakteh’s wedding. She listed out things for me to get, things for me to do, things for me to buy, people I need to meet up….. My 2nd round as wedding planner this year has just begun. She left quite a number of stuff at my house already. (Kakteh : it is your wedding, not mine, so better pay storage fee ye….) By 1030am, mom & dad left my house. They went back to SP that evening with my brother. I cleaned the house after they left, and slept that afternoon. Woke up at 3pm, went to PJ, then to Pavillion and watched Iron Man.

I wish my parents will move back to KL/Seremban soon. They are so far away up north. And I miss them a lot from time to time.

Ohh………
